Finding scholarships
Local and school scholarships often have fewer applicants.
Big national scholarships get thousands of applications. Smaller local and department scholarships can be easier to win, and they add up.
Where to look
- Your school's financial aid office and your academic department
- Local community groups, employers and religious organizations
- Your state's higher education agency
- Free scholarship search tools
Never pay
You should never have to pay to apply for or receive a scholarship. Fees and "guaranteed" scholarships are red flags.
