Textbooks can cost hundreds of dollars a semester. There are usually cheaper ways to get what you need.
Quick wins
- Wait for the first class or syllabus to confirm what's really required
- Ask if an older edition is fine
- Check the library's course reserves
- Rent, buy used, or look for open (free) textbooks
- Sell books back at the end of term
